It truly is the most wonderful time of year and Council Bluffs is kicking off the season in the best way. With so many family-friendly events to fill your calendar this week. 28th Annual Christmas in Carson Community Celebration
Wednesday, December 1st the streets of Broadway will be brightly lit with the traditional milk jug luminaries that will lead you to all the events along Commercial and Broadway. There will be a concert at Dreamland Theater at 5:30, Santa arrives at 7:00, businesses will be open from 5-8 (sign up for prizes at each location). A wine tasting will be held at the Country Store, the kids will enjoy a free Christmas Fire Truck ride at the Fire Station from 5-8 and the community center will feature activities and a soup supper along with craft & vendor fair, selfie station, reindeer run, bake sale & more!!
FAMILY, Inc- Free Holiday Photo Event
Looking to get a professional photo with Santa?? You’re in luck…and it’s FREE courtesy of FAMILY, Inc! Come to the Council Bluffs Public Library, December 2 from 5:30- 7:30 pm. You will also enjoy cookies & cocoa, holiday games, and crafts. You must reserve your session time in advance.
Experience a real treat December 3-5th in Macedonia! Visit the museums, get a Christmas gift at the Painted Camel and visit Santa himself on Saturday. You’ll also want to head over to the Grist Mill McCready Theater Group for their presentation of Dashing Through the Snow. A hilarious rendition of the classic by the writers of the Golden Girls series.
The Hoff Family Art & Culture Center is hosting an event for the whole family or individuals to build a whimsical Fairyhouse around a candle for these sweet mythical creatures to live. A wonderful holiday tradition to begin. December 3- 5:00-7:00 pm
Callahan Craft Fair
Thousands of exhibitors are presenting and selling incredible handmade items including leather goods, furnishings, paintings, kids, toys, jewelry, holiday items, food and so much more. Mid America Center- December 4-5.
Visit 8 of Council Bluffs’ historic homes in all of their holiday splendor starting with Bregant House, 517 South 4th Street in Council Bluffs. A map will be given to you at the Bregant House for the rest of the tour. Maps can be picked up at 11:30. The remaining tour will take place between noon and 4:30 pm. Your ticket also gets you half-price admission to see the Dodge House decorated in grand Victorian style. The Dodge House is open until 5:00 pm. December 5th from 12:00 to 4:30 pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased HERE.
