Trick-or-treating around Omaha and Council Bluffs is back and better than ever!  After many events taking the year off in 2020, there are numerous events throughout the area that the kids will absolutely love this year.  And the best part is, the kids won’t have to wait until Halloween!  There are plenty of events happening this weekend, as well!

Ghouls & GlowsOctober 15th – 30th from 6:00 – 10:00 pm

  • Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium
  • Enjoy a perfectly festive evening at the zoo, complete with hundreds of lanterns lighting the way as your family makes their way through the adventure trails! There will also be entertaining dancing skeletons, ghosts, witches, candy monsters, and more!  Don’t forget to have the kids dress up because there will be plenty of trick-or-treating to go around!

 

Trick-or-Treat DaysOctober 22nd from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

  • Omaha Children’s Museum
  • The museum is excited to be back for their annual event after taking the year off of festivities in 2020! There will be treat tables throughout the entirety of the museum, including around both the permanent exhibits, as well as their annual Cobweb Castle and Game On.

 

Ghoulish Garden AdventureOctober 24th from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

  • Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha
  • The kids will love trick-or-treating their way through the gardens, full of fall colors! While trick-or-treating, they can learn about pumpkins and spiders, as well as making various crafts!  There will also be snacks and a photo booth to take advantage of!

 

Treynor Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat – October 24th from 1:30 pm– 3:30 pm

  • Treynor Community Center
  • The event is $5 for ages 4 and up and included will be trunk-or-treating, a carnival, prizes for all ages, a pumpkin from the haunted patch, bingo, train rides, a petting zoo, and much more!

 

Trunk-or-Treat at Monroe-Meyer Institute – October 24th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

  • The Monroe-Meyer Institute in Omaha
  • Enjoy a completely, socially-distanced drive-thru trick-or-treating event! This event is geared towards children with disabilities and their families and costumes are optional.

 

Monster Rock on the 100 BlockOctober 25th at 3:00 pm in Council Bluffs

  • The historic 100 Block of West Broadway
  • The perfect community trick-or-treat get-together! The entire street will be shut down for the festivities and families will enjoy good old-fashioned trick-or-treating, as well as games, food, and “touch a truck”.

 

Field of Treats – October 27th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

  • Iowa Sports Complex, Council Bluffs
  • This free event is geared towards kids 12 and under and will be held indoors to ensure a comfortable atmosphere! Trick-or-Treat around the complex and enjoy all of the concessions thanks to the complex and local businesses.

 

Trunk-or-Treat at Creekside Church – October 27th from 6:30 pm– 8:30 pm

  • Creekside Church in Council Bluffs
  • There will be plenty of trunk-or-treating to go around, as well as a hayride, prizes/raffles, a Pottawattamie County Bones Exhibit, hot cocoa, and plenty of snacks!

 

Omaha Trunk-or-TreatOctober 30th and 31st     

  • Hosted by Lifegate Church at their West Dodge, Midtown, and Fremont locations.
  • Enjoy time not only trick-or-treating but also enjoying all of the festively decorated cars/trunks throughout the parking lots!

 

Trick-or-Treat at Rockbrook VillageOctober 30th from 2:00 pm– 3:30 pm 

  • Rockbrook Village Shopping Center in Omaha
  • There will be a meet and greet for the kids with the Little Mermaid and Spiderman while they trick-or-treat throughout the different stores! With almost 30 stores participating, it’s sure to be fun for all, while supporting local businesses!

 

Regular trick-or-treating will also take place in Omaha on Halloween.  While there isn’t an official time for trick-or-treating, it is generally from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm and participants will have their lights on.  Halloween is also the official trick-or-treat night for Council Bluffs, with the most popular time being from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  Have a safe and fun trick-or-treating!
